Woolly Woman Workout

Calling all the woolly women! On Wednesday, September 24th, women across America will be celebrating the 13th Annual National Women’s Health & Fitness Day. This fitness celebration was created to encourage women to take control of their health and fitness activities, by stressing the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness. In honor of this great day, we’re sharing some of our favorite fitness activities that you can add to your workout routine!

Yoga
Sculpt and tone your body while stretching core muscles with yoga. Whether you prefer Anusara, Restorative, or Bikram Yoga – try to incorporate yoga on a regular basis into your workout schedule. If possible, find a class offered in a studio, health club, or even a park. Get the look here.

Biking
Give your metabolism a boost, while enjoying the scenery. Cycling burns calories, tones your legs, and is easier on your joints than running – so don’t limit yourself to just taking a cycle class. Many are commuting to work, trail riding, and competing in triathlons. Get the look here.

Hiking
Improve your strength, endurance, cardiovascular health, and relieve stress by going on a hike. Getting outdoors is beneficial for the body and the mind, so enjoy what nature has to offer and visit a local hiking trail or park. Get the look here.

Rock Climbing
Don’t be scared of the climbing – there are many options for any skill level, inside or outside. A common misconception about rock climbing is that it’s all about strength. What is more important is working on your balance, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. If it’s your first time, seek professional guidance and be sure to use the proper safety equipment.
